RMHC of Arkoma is excited to announce the addition of an eleven bedroom Ronald McDonald House in Fort Smith! With construction planned just a short walk away from Mercy’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the House will offer a place of respite to families of critically ill children from the River Valley, just as our existing Ronald McDonald Family Room has done for the past nine years. Continued support of the local community gives us the extraordinary opportunity to bring comfort home to thousands more families in the coming years!
3,887 local families
have been served by the Ronald McDonald Family Room in Fort Smith since it opened in December 2010.
2,000 room requests
have gone unfulfilled in this time, due to need being outpaced by availability of our four existing bedrooms.
4,380 overnight stays
are projected to be provided to families in the first year of the House's operation, increasing our overall capacity in Fort Smith by 300%.
“Knowing that you’re so close to your baby, and knowing that you can be there in an instant, really puts your mind at ease.” – Meredith Brunen
